Brazil’s Petrobras nearing conclusion of major subsea tenders

Brazil’s national oil company Petrobras is nearing the conclusion of tenders for the contracting of engineering, procurement, construction and installation (EPCI) services at its Búzios 10 and 11 projects, two sources familiar with the matter told BNamericas. 

The commercial proposals are currently scheduled to be submitted at the end of September and October, respectively, but the dates may be postponed by Petrobras in case the participants request more time. 

“These are large contracts, in the order of hundreds of millions of dollars, involving pipelines, jumpers, manifolds, PLETs [pipeline end terminals] and PLEMs [pipeline end manifolds],” one of the sources said. 

In recent years, the state-run firm inked deals with TechnipFMC for the Mero 1 and 2 and Búzios 6 fields, Subsea 7 (Mero 3 and 4 and Búzios 8 and 9) and Saipem (Búzios 7). 

The contracts range between US$500mn and US$1.25bn. 

Located in the Santos basin pre-salt, Búzios 10 and 11 are programmed to come online in 2027. 

Production will come from the P-82 and P-83 FPSOs, which are being built by Seatrium.
