Etesco wins Petrobras rig tender
Etesco Construções e Comércio was declared the winner of a Petrobras tender to charter a jack-up intervention platform, a source with knowledge of the matter told BNamericas.
The company offered 1.4bn reais (US$250mn), overcoming X-Drill Holdings, Ocean Oasis Leasing (Tianjin) and Braserv, whose bids were disqualified on legal, economic and/or technical grounds.
The process was launched after a previous tender was canceled in which the state-owned oil company failed to reach an agreement with China’s Tianjin.
Petrobras intends to contract the unit to operate in the northeast region, in water depths of between 12m and 50m.
The contract is for 1,460 days, with the possibility of exercising an extension option – at the sole discretion of Petrobras – for up to 150 days for a total of 1,610 days, which is extendable for a period of the same length.
