Description:
The Administration of the National Port System of Veracruz (ASIPONA), formerly known as the Integral Port Administration of Veracruz SA de VC (APIVER), established in 1994 in Veracruz, is a parastatal company of the Mexican Federal Government responsible for managing the port area; operate sustainable terminals, facilities and services through third parties; build infrastructure works according to service demands; and develop a logistics model with rail and highway connections that favors cost optimization and generates greater profitability for both the port and its trading partners. The Federal Government granted ASIPONA the concession for 50 years, extendable for another 50 years. In mid-2017, ASIPONA authorities analyzed economic proposals to build a liquid fuel terminal from the companies Avant Energy Midstream, ESJ Renovable III, and the VTTI consortium.
