Uruguay's National Ports Administration (ANP), is the state-run entity responsible for the administration, conservation and development of the country´s public ports: Montevideo, Nueva Palmira, Juan Lacaze, Fray Bentos, Paysandú and Salto. ANP is linked to the Ministry of Transport and Public Works (MTOP) and it was established in 1916. It is based in Montevideo. The body owns 20% of the Terminal Cuenca del Plata S.A. (TCP), which is in charge of the management, operation and maintenance of a container terminal in Montevideo port.
