Aegea Saneamento e Participações S.A. (Aegea) is a Brazilian sanitation company controlled by the Equipav Group. The firm is present in 47 municipalities and nine states across Brazil; it was founded in 2010 and is headquartered in the city of São Paulo. The company serves as a sanitation concessionaire, operating across the whole water management value chain —supply and wastewater disposal and treatment—and serving more than 3.5 million people. Aegea has two national operating subsidiaries: Aegea Engenharia —an engineering company created to support Aegea's business units through project management and development, as well as serving as engineering and maintenance center; and Gestão de Sistemas de Saneamento (GSS), focused on providing services for the sanitation sector. Some of Aegea's sanitation subsidiaries include Prolagos, in Rio de Janeiro; Águas do Mirante, in São Paulo and Nascentes do Xing, in Mato Grosso, Pará and Rondônia. In 2016, the company won a tender process held by sanitation company Companhia Espírito Santense de Saneamento (CESAN) for a 30-year concession that includes the extension, maintenance and operation of Vila Velha city's wastewater management system and the support of CESAN's commercial activities.
