Description:
Altán Redes, whose headquarters are located in Mexico City, is an international consortium created in 2016 to design, operate and maintain the Mexican telecommunication project Red Compartida, established by a public-private agreement and coordinated by the Secretariat of Communications and Transport (Secretaría de Comunicaciones y Transportes, SCT) and the Federal Telecommunication Institute (Instituto Federal de Telecomunicaciones, IFT). Red Compartida will offer wholesaler national infrastructure which will enhance the service given by retail operators, providing services in the 700MHz band, 4G-LTE, IP Protocol and 5G to over 92.2% of citizens. The project will last 20 years but may be extended.
