Astaldi Honduras, a subsidiary of Italian construction group Astaldi S.p.A., started its operations in the country focused mainly on the transport infrastructure and water sectors in the 70s. The firm has been engaged in major projects such as the construction of the Rio Lindo hydroelectric plant, the Tegucigalpa-Zamorano-Danlí road link, El Níspero hydroelectric plant, the San Esteban-Bonito Oriental highway, The Nacaome Dam and the Concepción Dam. Most recently, the Tegucigalpa-based company has taken part in the reconstruction of several sections of the CA-5 Norte highway, hydraulic works in the Nacaome valley regional waterworks, and civil works in the new Los Micos tourist resort in Bahía de Tela.
