AT&T Comunicaciones Digitales S. de R.L. de C.V., (AT&T Mexico) is a local subsidiary of US telecommunications holding company AT&T Inc., and it provides voice and broadband services, as well as high-speed mobile Internet services. The company's 4G LTE network covers 78mn people in the country. In 2015, AT&T acquired NII Holdings Inc.'s wireless operations in Mexico, which offered services under the Nextel brand name. The acquisition included spectrum licenses, network assets, retail stores and approximately 3 million subscribers. The same year, AT&T acquired Mexican wireless company GFS Telecom, which provides services under the Unefon and Iusacell brand names. AT&T has developed a North American mobile service area covering almost 400 million people and businesses in Mexico and United States. Headquartered in Mexico City, the firm started operations officially in 2015, after merging Iusacell, Unefon and Nextel under the AT&T brand. In 2016, AT&T entered an agreement to acquire media and entertainment company Time Warner. The deal is expected to be completed by the end of 2017.
