Description:
Cementos Pacasmayo, Peru's second largest cement company, engages in the manufacture and sale of cement, lime, concrete and aggregates for industrial and mining use. Its operations are concentrated in the north and east of the country, including cement plants in Rioja, Pacasmayo, and Piura, and ready-mix concrete plants in Chimbote, Trujillo, Pacasmayo, Chiclayo, Piura and Cajamarca. The firm also has eight concrete prefabs plants, one diatomite bricks plant, one lime plant, and three aggregates plants. Based in Santiago de Surco and founded in 1949, the company is part of local group Hochschild-Pacasmayo. It started to operate as Cementos Pacasmayo in 1998 after the merger of local firms Cementos Norte Pacasmayo, Cementos Rioja, and Cordasa. Later, in October 2009, Pacasmayo created its subsidiary Fosfatos del Pacífico (Fospac) to handle the development of the Bayóvar non-metallic mineral deposits it won in a privatization process in 2007. Besides, the company is also involved in power transmission activities, through its subsidiary Empresa de Transmisión Guadalupe, that suplies electricity to the plant located in Pacasmayo.
