Description:

Brazilian Cetrel is responsible for water supply, effluents treatment and industrial waste disposal for the Camaçari Industrial Park, in the state of Bahia. The company also monitors the environment in the park and its entire area of influence, including chemical, physicochemical and biological analyses, assessing air quality, underground and surface-level water, effluents, rivers, sea, and conducting environmental consulting. The company handles the treatment of uncontaminated water, burning of liquid waste, disposal of solid waste and burning of dangerous solid waste. Cetrel's operations are conducted in part by the company itself, but also through its controlled subsidiaries: Distribuidora de Água Camaçari S.A. (DAC) and Cetrel Bioenergia S.A. (Cetrel Bioenergia). Cetrel is controlled by ODB Utilities, indirectly controlled by ODB ambiental, part of the Odebrecht Group. The company manages over 50km of pipes, 30km of canals and six pumping stations to treat 4,500m³/h of industrial effluents. It also supplies water for 60% of the park's companies –among them all of Braskem's units- with clarified, demineralized and drinking water. Cetrel's main clients are Braskem, Bahia Specialty Cellulose, Monsanto, Elekeiroz, Unigel, Petrobras, Ford, Ambev.
