Description:

CNOOC Petroleum Brasil Ltda., established in 2013 in Rio de Janeiro, is the Brazilian subsidiary of the China-based global crude oil and natural gas exploration, development and production company CNOOC Limited. CNOOC Petroleum Brasil holds a 10% interest in the 35-year production sharing agreement over Libra, a 1,550km2 deepwater pre-salt field located in the Santos basin, whose production of crude oil and gas begun in 2017. The same year, the firm was allocated the ES-M-592 block in the Espírito Santo basin (100%); and the Alto de Cabo Frio Oeste block in the Santos basin (20%) along with Shell Brasil (55%) and QPI Brasil (25%).
