Mexican water authority Comisión Estatal del Agua (CEA) is a government agency responsible for regulating Sonora state's water and sewerage industry, and promoting water efficiency and conservation. In addition, its goal is to promote innovation and permanent improvement in the water sector through the execution of works, as well as the development of a culture promoting the responsible use and preservation of water. The agency is responsible for the operation of the recently completed Independencia water pipeline to transport water over 150km from the El Novillo reservoir to state capital Hermosillo.
