Description:

Santiago-based Compañía de Petróleos de Chile Copec S.A. is a wholly owned subsidiary of Chilean Empresas Copec, part of AntarChile conglomerate. The firm distributes fuel and lubricants with a market share of 58% and 50%, respectively. From Arica in northern Chile to the southernmost city of Puerto Williams, Copec has more than 615 service stations, where it also offers lubrication, car wash and food services through its convenience stores Pronto and Punto. Copec also serves the aviation, power generation, mining, fishing, transport and farm industries, through products and services specially developed for them. The company, incorporated in 1934, has an international footprint after acquiring around 60% of Colombian fuel distribution company Terpel, which has 45% market share in Colombia and operates in Mexico, Peru, Panamá, Dominican Republic and Ecuador.
