Description:
A consortium made up of Spanish firms Cobra Instalaciones y Servicios S.A. and Initec Energía S.A. and Mexican company Avanzia Instalaciones S.A. de C.V. was awarded a contract to build the 615MW Valle de México II combined-cycle plant. The plant, to be built in Acolman in central Mexico state, will include natural gas and steam-powered turbines supplied by Siemens. The contract includes the engineering, supply, testing and commissioning of the plant and is worth US$425mn. Construction work was estimated to take 30 months, with the plant due to originally become operational in December 2017. However, the project has suffered several delays.
