Description:
Peruvian company Contugas S.A.C. is a subsidiary of Colombian energy firm Grupo Energía de Bogotá (GEB), and distributes and sells natural gas to residential, commercial and industrial clients, as well as vehicular gas, in the Ica region, southern Peru. In 2008, the company was awarded a 30-year concession to design, build, operate and maintain the Ica natural gas distribution system, covering the cities of Chincha, Pisco, Ica, Nasca and Marcona. The concession can be extended for 30 more years every 10-year periods. The network began partial operations in 2012 and was completed in 2014. In Humay, the system receives gas from the Camisea gas field and transports it to the Ica region and it has capacity to distribute 250Mcf/d. Contugas is headquartered in Lima.
