Description:

Founded in 1973, Corporación del Acueducto y Alcantarillado de Santo Domingo (Caasd) is the entity responsible for providing potable water and sewage services in Santo Domingo province, Dominican Republic. To improve services provided, Caasd is working on various initiatives related to the rehabilitation of its water treatment plants and the expansion and improvement of its potable water coverage and sewage network. In 2015, Caasd awarded a turnkey construction project for the new Mirador Norte La Zurza wastewater treatment plant to a Spanish consortium formed by Inypsa and Incatema Consulting. Mirador Norte La Zurza will incorporate biological filtration, purification and disinfection technologies, while sludge produced will be subject to treatment processes including anaerobic digestion and dehydration. The facility will serve around 560,000 residents of the Dominican Republic capital.
