Venezuela's Corporación Eléctrica Nacional (Corpoelec) is a state-owned electricity operator under the supervision of the Ministry of Electric Power, created by the government in 2007 after the sector restructuring process, which merged the 14 previous power companies. Its activities include generation, transmission, distribution and trading. The national generation capacity stands at 24,000MW and between 2013 and 2015 an additional 2,935MW were incorporated.
