Description:
The General Direction of Civil Aviation (Dirección General de Aeronáutica Civil, DGAC) is a Chilean institution established in Santiago de Chile in 1930 as Dirección de Aeronáutica, to regulate and oversee the activities developed in the aerospace of the country and the ones executed by national airlines abroad. The DGAC also participates in the development of aviation infrastructure, and provides services of air navigation, meteorology, airport, and operation safety. The DGAC has participated in the extensions of the airports of the Region of Araucanía and El Loa, of the airfield in Balmaceda Phase I, of the new terminal of the Querétaro airport, and of the international airport Arturo Merino Benítez.
