Description:
The General Directorate for Civil Aviation (Dirección General de Aviación Civil, DGAC) of the Republic of Costa Rica, under the Minstry of Public Works and Transport, was established in 1929 to plan, regulate and supply civil aviation services inside the country, and to grant and promote en efficient aeronautic activity. The DGAC is also responsible for modernizing and extending the aerial navigation and airport infrastructure and means, and invests on new technologies for the sector. In 2018, the DGAC announced a US$11.8-million investment to modernize the airport infrastructure in the Province of Limón.
