Description:
Eléctrica Cipresillos SpA, a special purpose company linked to Chilean investment bank South Andes Capital, is a Chilean utility developing the Cipresillos project, which setso out to build a run-of-the-river hydro plant, a substation and a 15.4km transmission line of 23kV in Chile's O'Higgins region (VI). The 8.9MW run-of-the-river Cipresillos mini hydro central is expected to produce 38GW/year, and it has an indefinite useful life. The US$17.8mn project is planned for the Cipresillos river, approximately 50km southeast of regional capital Rancagua. Work is slated to begin in October 2015 and take 13 months.
