Brazilian telecom operator Embratel Participações, through subsidiary Embratel, provides long-distance telephony, data transmission, television and internet services, as well as satellite solutions. In the connectivity segment, the firm offers mobility solutions, fixed voice, data and broadband services, as well as telepresence and satellite solutions. Embratel also offers a wide range of IT solutions including cloud, software factory, data center, IT security and outsourcing services. In 2013, its controller, Mexican telecommunications group América Móvil, started a restructuring process to merge the operations of Embratel Participações, Empresa Brasileira de Telecomunicações, and Net Serviços de Comunicação into its Brazilian subsidiary Claro, which assumed all concessions rights and permits.
