Argentine energy company Empresa Distribuidora y Comercializadora Norte (Edenor) engages in the transmission, distribution and marketing of electric power under a 95-year contract granted in 1992 by the Argentine government. Edenor's transmission system is composed of 75 substations, with an installed capacity of 15,839MVA and 1,438km of high-voltage networks. Regarding the distribution system, the network consists of 16,834MV/LV transformers, with an installed capacity of 6,937MVA, 10,216km of medium-voltage lines, and 26,248km of low-voltage lines. Currently, the company serves over 2.8mn customers through 27 commercial offices in 21 districts. Edenor was incorporated in 1992 as a result of the privatization of state-owned Servicios Eléctricos del Gran Buenos Aires. It is controlled by local power holding firm Pampa Energía through its subsidiary Electricidad Argentina.
