Honduran state power company Empresa Nacional de Energia Electrica (Enee) is involved in the generation, distribution and commercialization of electricity in the country. In 2017 it is building the300MW Los Llanitos and Jicatuyo hydroelectric plants in partnership with Brazilian company Odebrecht in Santa Bárbara department, the 104MW Patuca III hydroelectric plant in Olancho department and the 220MW El Aguán project, which includes a hydroelectric plant, a biomass plant and solar panels in Yorito municipality. The company's current operations include the Francisco Morazán (300MW), Río Lindo (80MW), Cañaveral (14.5MW), El Níspero (22.5MW) and Santa María del Real (1.2MW) hydroelectric plants, and some thermoelectric power plants. ENEE was founded in 1957 and is based in Tegucigalpa, Honduras.
