Empresa Regional de Servicio Público de Electricidad del Oriente S.A. (Electro Oriente) is a Peruvian company engaged in the generation, transmission, distribution and sale of thermal electricity in the regions of Loreto, San Martín, Amazonas and Cajamarca. The company is currently working to expand its Iquitos 55.8MW thermal plant in Loreto region. The project aims to increase capacity of the diesel and residual-fired power station by 20.5MW. In 2014, Electro Oriente was awarded a definitive concession to operate transmission lines in Amazonas region. The low-voltage lines total 56km and connect hydroelectric plants. In 2015, the country's energy and mines ministry granted Electro Oriente a concession to install solar PV systems in 31 Loreto region rural zones. Electro Oriente was founded in 1984 and is based in Iquitos, Peru.
