Energias Limpias del Yaguala S.A. de C.V. (El Yaguala) is a Honduran company developing the Arenal I-II hydroelectric project, to be located in Yoro department, between the municipalities of Arenal and Olanchito. The project consists of a 61MW power plant, with a 93m-high dam and two vertical-axis turbines that will use the Yaguala river water to supply approximately 229.72GW/y to the country's national power grid. Construction is scheduled to last 33 months starting by the end of 2017. El Yaguala is based in San Pedro de Sula. The firm is part of local conglomerate Grupo Corinsa, which also owns solar PV project developer Smartsolar.
