Description:

Ente Operador Regional, EOR (Regional Operator Entity) is a Central American agency with its own legal personality, made up of Guatemala, El Salvador, Honduras, Nicaragua, Costa Rica and Panama and headquartered in San Salvador, which was created in 1996 by the Framework Treaty of the Electric Market of Central America, under the Central American Integration System to operate and plan the regional electric system and manage its market. EOR's functions include suggesting market operation procedures and the use of the regional transmission networks, ensuring that the operations and the delivery of energy are made under an economic approach, performing commercial management of the transactions between the market agents, writing an expansion plan for the regional generation and transmission, among others. The EOR also operates the transactions of energy between Central America and Mexico, and the future electric interconnection with Colombia.
