Established in 1999, Ferrocarril del Istmo de Tehuantepec, S.A. De C.V.(FIT) is a state-run freight company. FIT manages 200km of freight rail lines that run cross country from Medias Aguas, Veracruz, to Salina Cruz, Oaxaca. The company manages, maintains and repairs over 100 bridges and five cargo stations (Medias Aguas, Matías Romero, Lagunas, Ixtepec and Salina Cruz).
