The Global Energy Interconnection Development and Cooperation Organization (GEIDCO), headquartered in Beijing, China, is an international entity whose member firms, associations, institutions and individuals are aimed at promoting the sustainable development of energy worldwide. GEIDCO seeks to promote the establishment of a Global Energy Interconnection - GEI system to meet the global demand for electricity in a clean and green way, to implement the United Nations ¿Sustainable Energy for All¿ and climate change initiatives, and to serve the sustainable development of humanity. GEIDCO promotes the GEI concept; formulates development plans and promotes the creation of technical standards framework for the GEI; organizes concerted and collaborative efforts in researches and innovations, key studies, international communication and cooperation, and in the implementation of engineering project; provides consulting services; and leads the development of GEI. The founding of GEIDCO marks the transition of GEI from a concept to strategy implementation, promoting South-South and South-North cooperation, and helps transforming the resource into economic advantage in Asia, Africa and South America. This will help address power shortage and poverty, and narrow regional gaps and differences.
