Founded in 1998, Grupo Aeroportuario del Sureste, S.A.B. de C.V. (Asur) is a mexican holding company and concessionaire. It operates, maintains and develops nine airports in the southeast Mexico: Cancun, Mérida, Cozumel, Villahermosa, Oaxaca, Veracruz, Huatulco, Tapachula and Minatitlán. In 2012 local consortium Aerostar Airport Holdings – comprised of Aeropuerto de Cancún S.A.de C.V. and New York-based Highstar Capital IV L.P. – won a 40-year lease to operate and maintain the Luis Muñoz Marín international airport in San Juan, Puerto Rico.
