Description:

US energy company Hess Corporation was incorporated in 1920, and is engaged in the exploration, development, production, purchase, transportation and sale of crude oil, natural gas liquids, and natural gas. Its production facilities are located primarily in the US (including the Gulf of Mexico), Denmark, Equatorial Guinea, the Joint Development Area of Malaysia/Thailand (JDA), Malaysia, Canada and Norway. In Latin America, the company has assets in Guyana and Suriname. Hess is co-owner of the offshore Stabroek Block (30%), located 120 miles northeast of Georgetown, Guyana. The block is operated by Esso E&P Guyana Ltd. (45%), with a minority interest held by CNOOC Nexen (25%). In Suriname, through its subsidiary Hess Suriname Exploration Ltd., acquired a 33.3% non-operated interest in offshore Block 42, in the Guyana-Suriname basin. The project is still in the seismic surveying phase. Hess Corporation's headquarters are in New York, with regional offices in Houston, and Kuala Lumpur.
