Description:

Hess Guyana Exploration Ltd., a subsidiary of Hess Corporation, is an energy company with 30% interest in the exploration and production of crude oil and natural gas in the Stabroek Block, located offshore from Guyana, together with Esso E&P Guyana Ltd (operator, 45%) and Nexen Petroleum Guyana Ltd (25%). In 2015 and 2016, exploration drillings of Liza-1 and Liza-2 wells of the Stabroek block, resulted in 295 and over 190 feet of high quality oil-bearing sandstone reservoirs, respectively. In addition, the Liza-3 appraisal well identified another reservoir, which would house 100 to 150 million barrels of oil equivalent. The Payara-1 well, located near Liza and drilled by the end of 2016 by Esso Exploration and Production Guyana Limited, had more than 95 feet of high-quality, oil-bearing sandstone reservoirs.
