Iberdrola is a Spanish energy group engaged in the distribution, generation, transmission and sale of electricity. The company also participates in the renewable energy and natural gas distribution markets, and provides engineering and construction services. Its installed capacity in Latin America totals 6,618MW. The bulk of capacity comes from natural gas combined-cycle plants (5,092MW), followed by hydro plants (682MW), wind farms (613MW) and cogeneration (232MW). In 2015, the company sold its stake in Brazilian electricity distribution firms Companhia de Electricidade do Estado da Bahia (Coelba) and Companhia Energética do Rio Grande do Norte (Cosern). Iberdrola's main regional operations are located in Mexico and Brazil.
