Description:
InterGen is a global power generation firm with 11 power plants representing a total generation capacity of 7,686MW. Its power generation facilities are located in the UK, the Netherlands, Mexico, and Australia. The company provides fuel procurement and project management, financing and negotiation services. It also sells power to utilities, energy marketers and end-use customers. InterGen's assets in Mexico include natural gas-fired combined cycle facilities La Rosita (1,100MW), Chihuahua (271MW), Campeche (252MW), and Bajio (600MW). In 2014, the company put into service a 40,000HP compression station at Altamira port in Tamaulipas state, aiming to support the transportation of up to 36.8Mm3/d of natural gas in Mexico's pipeline system and provide services to state utility CFE. A year later, its Energía Sierra Juárez wind farm started operations, becoming the first border wind facility to export power to the US. In Mexico, InterGen is also developing a 220MW natural gas-fired thermoelectric power plant in San Luis de la Paz, Guanajuato state, which is expected to start commercial operations in 2015. InterGen is based in Massachusetts, in the US, and is jointly owned by the Ontario Teachers' Pension Plan and GMR Infrastructure Ltd.
