Kingston-based Jamaica Private Power Company (JPPC) is engaged in the generation of electric power and it is a subsidiary of Inkia Energy, IC Power Ltd.'investment arm. The company has an effective capacity of 60MW, accounting for approximately 6% of the country´s interconnected system capacity. JPPC owns and operates a combined-cycle steam turbine and two diesel generation units. The company signed a Power Purchase Agreement with Jamaica Public Service Company which will buy all JPPC´s power production.
