Description:
Karoon Petroleo & Gas Ltda. is a Brazilian subsidiary company of Karoon Gas Australia Ltd. incorporated in 2008, which is mainly engaged in the exploration and extraction of oil and gas. Karoon's operations in Brazil are focused on the S-M-1037 (Neon oil discovery), S-M-1101 (Goiá oil discovery) and S-M-1537 blocks, which are all wholly-owned by the company and have gross acreage of approximately 170km2 each, with depths of 400m, in Santos basin. In 2020, Karoon completed the acquisition of 100% of concession BM-S-40 from Petrobras, which includes the producing Baúna light oil field. Its headquarters are in Rio de Janeiro, and has offices in Florianopolis.
