Description:
Minera Valle Central (MVC) is the fully-owned subsidiary and sole business of Vancouver-based Amerigo Resources. MVC processes copper and molybdenum tailings from Codelco's El Teniente. Former Codelco management established MVC in 1990/1. The El Teniente tailings are transported to MVC along a 36km pipeline and, after reprocessing via crushing and cascade flotation, deposited in Carén tailings dam, some 50km west of MVC's facilities. The company expects 2012 production to meet or exceed targets of 50Mlb of copper and close to 1Mlb of molybdenum. MVC is based in Rancagua in southern Chile's region VI.
