Created in 2005 and headquartered in Rio de Janeiro, Odebrecht Participações e Investimentos S.A. (OPISA) is a holding company, part of Brazil's Odebrecht group, that invests domestically and internationally on utility concessions, including highways, railways, ports, airports, stadiums, power sanitation, water treatment and supply, sewerage, and other infrastructure, utility and environmental projects. In Latin America, the company has invested in Brazil, Peru, Colombia and Mexico. Projects include Peru's Chavimochic irrigation project, as part of the Chavimochic concessionaire, together with Constructora Norberto Odebrecht S.A. and Spain's Graña y Montero; and the second stretch of Colombia's Ruta del Sol highway with Constructora Norberto Odebrecht S.A., Estudios y Proyectos del Sol S.A.S. and CSS Constructores S.A. OPISA owns 100% of Odebrecht Latinvest, a company created in 2012 to consolidate all of the group's highway concessions operating in Peru and Colombia, and to identify new investment opportunities in transportation and logistics in Latin American countries, excluding Brazil.
