Description:

Colombia's hydrocarbons transportation joint venture Oleoducto de los Llanos Orientales S.A. (ODL) was set up to build and operate a 235km diluted heavy crude oil pipeline connecting the Rubiales pumping station, in Meta department, with the Monterrey station, in Casanare department, which came online in 2009. One year later, an additional 25km pipeline, running from El Viento to Cusiana, both in Casanare, was started up. ODL is a subsidiary of CENIT S.A. Transporte y Logística de Hidrocarburos (owned by Ecopetrol) and Pacific Midstream Ltd. The JV was created in 2007 by Ecopetrol S.A. and formerly Petro Rubiales Corp (currently Pacific Midstream), through Panama-based firm ODL Finance S.A., which was later merged by absorption with ODL. ODL transports oil extracted from the Rubiales, Pirirí and Quifa fields and has a 340.000b/d transport capacity. In 2013, a dilution plant, located in Cusiana, was incorporated to ODL's operations to assure oil meets the correct specifications for transportation. The company is based in Bogota.
