Orbia, based in Mexico City, is a Mexican company specialized in polymers, materials and infrastructure with commercial activities in more than 100 countries and operations in 41. The company operates 136 production plants, 19 research and development laboratories and 2 fluorite mines. Orbia and its subsidiaries operate in three business divisions: Polymer Solutions (Vestolit), Fluor (Koura) and Fluent, the latter subdivided into three areas: construction and infrastructure (which includes the Wavin and Amanco subsidiaries), data communications (Dura-Line ) and precision agriculture (Netafim).
Through its business units, Orbia is a producer of plastic pipes and fittings, PVC resin, chlorine and quantum soda, high-density polyethylene products, hydrofluoric acid, refrigerant gases, ethylene, VCM, PE, PP, HDPE and geosynthetics. , among other resins and plasticizers, irrigation systems and data technologies for agriculture, and conduits for telecommunications, among others.
Known as Orbia since 2019, the company was originally incorporated in 1978 under the name of Grupo Industrial Camesa, although its history dates back to 1953 with the formation of Cables Mexicanos S.A.
