Pacific Hydro Chile, the Latin American subsidiary of China's State Power Investment Corporation (SPIC), holds water rights to develop hydro projects of up to 600MW in capacity in the Chacapoal valley in Chile's O'Higgins region (VI). The company runs the 76MW Coya and Pangal plants; the 111MW Chacayes run-of-the-river plant; and the 155MW La Higuera and 155MW La Confluencia run-of-the-river projects in the Tinguiririca valley. The company was founded in 2002 and is based in Santiago, Chile.
