Description:

PRIO, formerly HRT Participações em Petróleo S.A., engages in the exploration, development, production, distribution, and sale of oil and natural gas. The company has operations in the Solimões Sedimentary basin, State of Amazonas and in Namibia, West coast of Africa. PRIO has a portfolio of 34 onshore and offshore blocks, out of which 19 are onshore blocks in the Solimões Basin, in which the Group holds 55% interest in exploration rights. Also in Brazil, the Group holds 10% interest in exploration rights in 3 blocks in onshore basins, located in the Recôncavo (State of Bahia), Espírito Santo (State of Espírito Santo) and Rio do Peixe (State of Paraíba) basins. Its subsidiary HRT Africa operates 10 blocks in Namibia, in the Walvis and Orange basins. In early-2015, the firm signed a deal with Shell to acquire 80% of the rights and obligations of Shell Brasil Petróleo's concession contracts for the Bijupirá and Salema fields. In 2016, the company completed the acquisition of the independent oil company Brasoil.
