Description:
Peruvian transmission concessionaire Red de Energía del Perú S.A. (REP) builds and operates high-voltage power transmission lines in 21 regions of Peru. The company is a subsidiary of Colombian energy firms Interconexión Eléctrica S.A. (ISA), Transelca and Empresa de Energía de Bogotá (EEB). Lima-based REP was founded in 2002 after ISA won a 30-year concession to manage the transmission lines formerly held by state-owned companies Etecen and Etesur. The company operates as the management center of two other of ISA's Peruvian subsidiaries —Consorcio Transmantaro (CTM) and ISA Perú, providing technical and administrative services. Among the services provided to CTM, the company launched the first 500,000 volts transmission line in the country —the Chilca–La Planicie–Zapallal project. REP operates a network of 48 substations and more than 8,000km with voltages of 60kV, 220kV and 500kV.
