Description:

Sistema Productor São Lourenço S.A. is a Brazilian special purpose company formed in 2013 by construction firms Construções e Comércio Camargo Corrêa and Andrade Gutierrez to develop and maintain the Sistema Productor de Água São Lourenço, built under a public-private partnership with its owner Companhia de Saneamento Básico do Estado de São Paulo (Sabesp). The system will provide water as well as supply drainage, drying and disposition of sludge. The project will expand the existing water production capacity in the Greater São Paulo area. The Água São Lourenço system will have an average capacity of 4,700 l/s (with a maximum of 6,000 l/s), increasing the current network's capacity by 7% and benefiting directly 1.55mn residents of Barueri, Carapicuíba, Cotia, Itapevi, Jandira, Santana de Parnaíba and Vargem Grande. Projections estimate that by 2025, 1.67mn residents will benefit from the project. With an investment of around US$690mn, the system will include a water treatment station, pumping stations, 83km of pipelines, and reservoirs. The company won a 25-year concession for the operation of the system, expected to be completed in 2018.
