Description:
Costa Rica's Sociedad Portuaria de Caldera (SPC) holds the concession to operate and maintain La Caldera port on Costa Rica's Pacific coast, the country's second largest port by freight volume. The consortium is made up of Chilean multinational SAAM (51%), Costa Rican company Saret (21%), Logística de Granos (19%) and Colombia's Grupo Empresarial del Pacífico (9%). The port began operations as a state agency in 1981 and was privatised in 2006.
