Terna SpA is an independent Italian power transmission company originated in 1999 and based in Rome that develops, builds, operates and maintains high and extra high voltage power transmission networks, and manages nearly 75,000 km of transmission lines . In Brazil, Terna entered into agreements to develop and operate the Santa María (Rio Grande do Sul), Santa Lucía (Mato Grosso) and Linha Verde II (Minas Gerais) transmission lines, as well as a contract in Peru to connect the Aguaytía and Pucallpa substations. Terna also has a local office in Chile.
