Created as the works execution unit of the La Barquita program, the Unidad Ejecutora para la Readecuación de la Barquita y Alrededores (Urbes) is tasked with the modernization of one of the most emblematic areas of Santo Domingo, the capital of the Dominican Republic. The initiative consists of the construction of schools, apartment complexes, parks and a cable car system.
