Description:
The Virgin Islands Water and Power Authority (WAPA), a public power utility, produces and distributes electricity and potable water to approximately 55,000 electrical customers and 13,000 potable water customers. Legislation was amended in 2001, adding to its responsibilities the installing and maintaining of adequate street lights in urban and rural residential sections. WAPA was founded in 1964.
