Description:
WTE Araucanía SpA is a Chilean firm that in 2015 won a concession to develop a solid waste disposal project for the city of Temuco, in Araucanía region (IX). The company is currently building the WTE Araucanía waste-to-energy plant, with a capacity to treat 186,000T/y of solid waste. The process will convert the waste to Bio Thermo-Stabilized Organic Matter (MOTBE), which will then be used to generate a total of 15MW that will power the plant, 12MW of which will be supplied to the country's central power grid. WTE Araucanía SpA is headquartered in Temuco.
