Caribbean, CentAm power procurement watch
St Vincent and the Grenadines’ power utility Vinlec issued a call for bids to implement a battery energy storage system (BESS).
Vinlec has received US$8.62mn in financing from the Caribbean Development Bank (CDB) for the BESS project.
The contract entails the engineering, procurement, construction and commissioning of a 5MW/h system, according to the procurement notice.

Belize Electricity launched a tender to build dispatch infrastructure which CDB also will help finance.
The planned works are the installation of a 34.5kV submarine cable between the North Caye Caulker substation and San Pedro switching station, and the design, construction and commissioning of the latter two facilities.
