Dominican Republic state power transmission company ETED reported that construction of the 345/138kV Cabreto substation is 95% complete.

The link will benefit over 1.1mn users in the east of the country through improved dispatch to San Pedro de Macorís, as well as capital Santo Domingo, from current and future power plants.

Honduras’ congress approved a decree to exempt from taxes power sector companies in a bid to help final users.

In a statement, the legislative body’s president Mauricio Oliva and energy secretary Leonardo Deras said the measure will allow generators to offer more competitive prices.

The finance department in coordination with the energy department and customs authority have 30 days to issue the associated regulation to implement the decree.
